Attention to all those who are attending the Christmas luncheon in Fort Frances on December 6.
Wow! You have blown us away with the number of people who have signed up to attend. We have 76 people attending! It is going to be a great luncheon. We are looking forward to seeing you there. Here are a couple of things that you may need to know or want to know.
  • If you need to cancel, and we don’t have a replacement person on our waitlist expect people to pay for their meal. If there are exceptional circumstances, please let us know why you are canceling. If you didn’t get signed up and would like to be put on the waitlist, please contact us.
  • If you need the handicap entrance to the Legion, you drive around to the back of the Legion and go in through that door. There is a stair lift that you either step on or wheel your wheelchair onto.
  • Please do not come any earlier than 11 o’clock. Things will be set up in the time before that and it’s much easier to do if we are not trying to work around people. Thank you for your help with that.
  • We will have name tags ready for you. They will be the magnetic ones that we used earlier in the fall.
  • Don’t forget that we are collecting non-perishable food items, or monetary donations, for the food banks. I will put a list below of some of their most requested items.
Here is the food bank suggestion list:  canned, fruit, canned vegetables (such as corn, beans, carrots, peas, and tomatoes), baked beans, canned meat (Such as tuna, salmon, turkey, ham, etc.), Kraft Dinner, Hamburger Helper, different types of pasta (including the Knorr sidekicks or equivalents), spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, soup, instant potatoes, cereal, peanut butter, jam, tea, coffee, packets of sugar/salt/pepper, canned pastas, cranberry sauce, stove, top, stuffing, pancake mix, syrup, boxed juices, and granola bars.
In the past when I have picked up some things, I have also tried to think of some things that people may not be able to afford, but would be greatly appreciated so let your mind wander and see what you can come up with.
See you on Wednesday, December 6!
From Cynthia, Monica, and Diane
